This is a functionally based class that caters for all levels of student. The class brings together two complementary disciplines that will enhance your ability to move through life with better posture, ease, grace and a heightened sense of wellbeing. Integration of movement with the breath is a key feature throughout this class.
The class will begins laying on the floor with a short period of body awareness, followed by gentle joint and spine mobilisation and stretching exercises. It then moves into the Pilates repertoire to facilitate stabilisation of the trunk. and work the core muscles while disassociating the limbs. We then transition into the yoga segment emphasising standing asanas (postures) aimed at enhancing, balance, strength and aiding bone density.
The class will conclude with a seated section from the Yoga or Pilates repertoire followed by a relaxation. Every student should leave the class with a sense of heightened wellbeing.
