Asana implies not just a form or a shape but an energetic structure, an integrated energetic structure in which actions are organized in a systematic orderly way. In particular this organization implies a sequencing, a methodical approach with a particular starting point and particular progression. Equally also we need to discriminate between "action" and "motion". In this workshop we will look at energetic structure in asana including where to start from, how to proceed, and crucially, our references for understanding/feeling our path as our foundation for understanding ("skill") in practice. We will also explore the differences between "action" and "motion" and the divergent paths they lead us down. Practicing for understanding is a very different path and a very different process to practicing for "knowledge" or "information" both in terms of its underlying values.
