<div dir="ltr">This 8 week yoga therapy series recognises that the pelvic floor is often overlooked as an area that needs to be worked to maintain tone and strength. Like any other muscle group we learn to isolate, and alternately engage and relax the muscles of the pelvic floor to encourage both strength and flexibility. We also need to understand the role of ancillary muscles that assist in maintaining its tone. </div>
<div dir="ltr"> </div>
<div dir="ltr">My approach includes education in understanding anatomy and the role of various muscle groups in strengthening the pelvic floor and the area surrounding it. Classes will include traditional yoga asanas (exercises), yoga therapy exercises, pranayama (breathing practices), and yoga theory. Over time, you should be able to locate, isolate and engage pelvic floor muscles to bring them into better balance and to recognise the role that your pelvic floor and core strength plays in your overall functioning: mind, body and spirit. </div>
<div dir="ltr"> </div>
<div dir="ltr">Each week we will explore a different aspect of "core strength" by learning to activate the pelvic floor in various positions. All areas of the body will be worked weekly in addition to your core/pelvic floor to balance your overall practice.</div>
