Yin Yoga is a slow-paced practice intended to counteract and balance our very busy “yang” society and lifestyle. It’s about slowing down, paying attention, and really listening to your body as you breathe. Postures are supportive and held for 2-5 minutes, mainly seated or lying on the floor and often with blankets and bolsters. Enjoy gentle, flowing movements in the transitions between shapes. By tuning into our deeper layers - our respiratory and circular functions, internal organs, and sensations within the muscles and joints - we have the opportunity to cultivate gratitude for the body. In this space, profound healing and connection can take place. This all-levels class beautifully complements the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga.
