Celebrate the Summer Solstice -- the longest day of the year -- by doing 108 sun salutations. Surya Namaskara is usually the warm up in most vinyasa classes. In this special class, that highly efficient sequence of 10 poses will be the main focus. Ancient yogis viewed the sun as the physical embodiment of the soul -- the celestial light inside all living beings. When we're doing sun salutations, we not only honor the source of life and light on Earth, but also the divine spark within.
Please bring your own yoga mat and remember to dress in layers in case it gets chilly. Mats must be placed at least 6 feet apart and use of masks is highly recommended.
This class will be held at The Overlook in Forest Park (80th Road and Park Lane), either at the baseball outfield or by the flagpole. Click on this link to open a map of The Overlook with the two possible class locations.
