Slow
Flow is a mindful,
slower paced yoga class that is meditative and emphasizes peace and
calmness of body and mind. Poses are held for a longer period of
time to teach principles of proper physical and energetic
alignment. This means that you can plan on taking several
rounds of breath in each pose, instead of moving to each
breath.
The challenge in the class comes from holding postures for a longer period of time and the simultaneous steering of consciousness to the awareness of breath and movement. Breathing and mindfulness practices are taught in simpler sequences.
This class is approachable for both beginners and more experienced students. It is a great place to start if you are new to Flow-style yoga or anyone wanting a methodically paced class that still emphasizes the connection between breath and movement.
