<p>80% of Americans experience some kind of lower back discomfort. Injury and chronic conditions can play a big role in that, as can our daily habits and lifestyle choices. Sitting for extended periods, lack of physical activity and repetitive movements often result in a weak core and tightness and tension in the lower back. </p>
<p><br />The good news is that yoga can help! In this 4-week series we will explore how yoga can help support low back health through asana (poses) and mindfulness techniques to increase body awareness. You’ll learn how to evaluate your posture and identify habitual movement and holding patterns that may be contributing to your discomfort and explore functional yoga sequences designed create a balance of strength, length and flexibility in the back, hips, hamstrings and core.<br /><br /></p>
<p>You will come away with tools you can use in your yoga practice and everyday life to support a happy, healthy back. This series is for those who are able to participate in a gentle yoga class. It is not designed for those suffering from acute injury. Please consult your physician before registering if you have any reservations.</p>
