Jenny is an ICEA Certified Childbirth Educator, Breastfeeding Educator, Doula, Massage Therapist, Craniosacral Therapist, Yoga Instructor and Mother of two. Birth Wisdom is a 4 Week, Group Childbirth Education Series of classes. Jenny's classes help you and your partner understand the normal process of childbirth, variations of normal and possible complications that could arise.Together we will explore how to feel confident and less fearful of the unknowns which accompany every birth. We explore why many women want to attempt a non-medicated birth, and how the partner can assist in supporting and caring for the Mama during her birth journey.You and your partner will learn how to be more engaged and less overwhelmed with your birth. You will learn about Informed Consent and will develop strategies of coping based on knowledge of the process of birth and alternatives. In these classes we will discuss topics and birth beliefs that may not be addressed in a hospital based classes while still providing evidence based information. By learning in an experiential and creative way, your birth can become an empowering and enjoyable experience. Jenny's hope is that you will look forward to the birth of your baby with excitement and joy and that it will be a memory you cherish.<br /><br /><strong>Pricing:</strong> $300 per Couple for 4-Week Series <br /><strong>Pre-registration is required.</strong> <br /><br /><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Breakdown of Class Structure:</strong> </span><br /><strong>Class #1 </strong> of the series explores choices in care providers, belief systems regarding birth and looking at lifestyle and diet choices to maintain a healthy pregnancy and birth. This class also focuses on understanding "stages and phases of labor," and you will learn to understand the hormonal influences on the stages of labor. </div>
<div><br /><strong>Class #2</strong> is understanding medical interventions and learning how to establish conversations with caregivers when it comes to suggested care. We also practice relaxation breathing techniques and discuss creating "Birth Wish Lists.” <br /><br /><strong>Class #3</strong> is Comfort Measures. We practice massage and relaxation techniques, movements, and body positions to help facilitate more optimal fetal positioning and coping techniques. This is a very experiential class, and it is always the favorite class in the series.<strong> <br /><br />Class #4</strong> is Breastfeeding Basics - understanding fourth trimester and its influence on a successful breastfeeding relationship. We also discuss how to find the right kind of support after baby is born.</div>
