<div>Tap dance originated in the United States in the early 19th century from the fusion of percussive dances from different cultures, particularly from African tribal dances and Scottish, Irish and English clog dancing. The influences from these different dance styles evolved to what we know today as tap dancing. Throughout the history of Tap dance, a lot of racism and segregation has occurred. There’s an ongoing fight for equality and just representation in this industry.</div>
<div>For students with 5-8 years of training, or who have technical proficiency, a thorough understanding of vocabulary, very good musicality, speed, clarity and control. Technically difficult steps will be the focus, with complex combinations.
