This section provides a comprehensive perspective on methods
to achieve the goals of a therapeutic relationship including
facilitating, assisting, helping, and promoting self-care and
independence.
Through direct participation and case studies, the trainee
will maximize communication skills, understanding of human
behaviors, and personal strengths with a focus of enhancement of
the client’s growth.
In addition, the important indirect actions that demonstrate
respect in the therapeutic relation- ship, such as empathy,
attentiveness, genuine, boundary issues will be explored.
This section serves as a culmination of Level 1 topics,
reinforcing and assessing trainee understanding and ability to
apply customized yoga practices within a therapeutic
relationship.
Trainees will be given a final teaching project and case study
that will receive instructor feedback and graded assessment,
requiring them to demonstrate critical thinking skills in the
moment in developing a practice for an individual’s needs.
