It’s slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. Because you’re holding poses for a longer period of time than you would in other traditional types of yoga, yin yoga helps you stretch and lengthen those rarely-used tissues. This practice encourages you to challenge your edge while also allowing for deep relaxation. The class will take you through a series of poses that are held for a period of 3–5 minutes. All poses have modifications, so this class is suited to all levels. It is a wonderful complement to a more active yoga practice.</span></p>
