<p>Yang to Yin: Using Skill To Be Still</p>
<p>Balance and restore your energy, flexibility, and strength in this unique class that will empower you to develop or revive the depth and breadth you crave in your yoga practice.</p>
<p>Each 75-minute class in this all-levels 4-class series will begin with a flowing Vinyasa practice focusing on connecting breath and movement that aims to awaken your energy and increase flexibility, muscle tone, and mobility. Gradually, you will be moved into stillness—beginning with meditation—as you are guided into a Yin practice of passively held floor poses that assist in accessing levels of depth in connective tissue as well as meditative states. Students will have the opportunity to explore instructor-led variations of each Yin pose so all levels of practitioner can find individualized balance.</p>
<p>This series is great for all yogi levels, athletes, those experiencing tightness and physical manifestations of stress, those wanting to access deeper mind-body connections, or those looking for a revival in their yoga practice.</p>
<p>4 75-minute sessions Tuesdays at 7:30p on April 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th</p>
<p>Session 1 April 6th - React Then Relax: Legs, hips, spine: hip-opening for stress reduction from stress reactions</p>
<p>Session 2 April 13th - Confidence in the Calm: heart-opening/upper body (neck, shoulders, arms, wrists, upper back)</p>
<p>Session 3 April 20th - Stiff & Sore: athlete-focused; excessive sitting (legs: knees, hamstrings, quadriceps)</p>
<p>Session 4 April 27th - Softness in Strength: Upper body strength (Yang focus) and lower body flexibility (Yin focus)</p>
<p>Each will include reiterations of how to cultivate Yang and Yin and how to transition between them. This includes the interplay between grounding and lightness/vice versa: whole body reminders for how to flow into calming, stabilizing poses (breathwork, alignment, meditative seat, yin principles); and different levels of access (using props, alignment foundations).</p>
<p>Take home materials will be offered to assist in progressing in your at home practice.</p>
