<p>Because the rib cage serves multiple purposes: weight-bearing, organ-protection, deep-breathing, etc., it is vital to optimize its ability to move in all directions. Maximum movement potential in the rib cage occurs as a result of the ability to twist and side-bend. Among other things, your rib cage supports your shoulder girdle and head. </p>
<p>Thus, the more expansion you can create in the base of your throat (sternal notch), the more you are able to balance the weighty shoulders and head evenly and effortlessly on your rib cage. Greater space anywhere means greater freedom of movement everywhere. </p>
<p>Pratyahara, Pranayama and Meditation are also part of the workshop agenda.</p>
