Balance (sattva) for yogis requires us to move from muscular-skeletal action (effort or rajas), into the effortless effort of depth practices. In particular, subtle movement (tamas) at the organic level gently eases us into deeper-felt experiences of both the self and the divine. In this organic practice, the focus is on gently moving the kidneys to facilitate effortless freedom in one’s overall experience of each pose. Rigidity in the kidneys reduces both their fluidity and flexibility. Healthy kidneys allow us to maximize our energy potential with a minimum of effort (sattva). Gentle twists and backbends stimulate effective kidney functioning. Pranayama and Meditation are also part of the workshop agenda.
