<div>Yoga is good cross training for nearly everything, especially sports. Athletes need to vary their challenges. What starts out as a healthy training routine, can sometimes become repetitive and mind numbing. Doing the same thing over-and-over again can lead to injury. Yoga helps injury prevention through adding more variety and better body awareness and mechanics. Yoga for Athletes is not athletic yoga. This class is in a non-competitive environment, and includes strengthening with resistance bands, doing traction at the yoga wall, safely stretching the hamstrings, therapeutic work for the joints and muscles, and all complemented by a yoga relaxation.</div>

<div><br />The class is taught by Mike Curtis who was a runner and is now a biker and plays tennis. It is not Mike's ability with sports that makes him a good teacher for this class, but his 36 years of practicing and studying yoga. This class was requested 20 years ago, and now we are finally doing it.</div>
