Frequently Asked Questions:
What is Y12SR? Y12SR is the Yoga of 12-Step Recovery. It is an innovative mind-and-body practice that addresses addiction relapse prevention by combining the practical tools of 12-step programs of recovery with the physical and spiritual practices of yoga.

How does it work? The Y12SR model addresses addiction as a physical, mental and spiritual dis-ease, saying that “the issues live in our tissues." The body bears the burden of addiction and the effects get ‘stuck’ within our bodies. Yoga’s physical practice combining breath and movement can release what’s held in our bodies The 12-Step recovery model is cognitive — a talking, thinking practice to help release what's in the mind Addiction separates and disconnects people from their families, their communities, and themselves. Yoga means ‘union’ or ‘integration.' Y12SR pairs a traditional 12-step-based discussion group and a physical yoga practice for the ultimate mental/somatic approach.

Who participates in Y12SR? It is open to anyone and everyone dealing with addiction — their own or the addictive behavior of others. Y12SR is an open and inclusive group. All “A’s” are welcome.

What does it cost to do Y12SR? We do not charge to participate in Y12SR. Meetings are offered to the community by donation.

What do you do with the money that’s donated? Donations are divided between the host facility and a non-profit serving the recovery population in our community. Our Y12SR supports CommQuest Deliverance House.
