Join
Cynthia and Down Dog Yoga for an outdoor summer adventure with
Michigan trails and greenways as we get to know Pure Michigan at
it’s best! Our events begin with a warm up to lubricate the joints
and prepare the muscles for exercise before we head out to hike or
bike. You may choose to bike or walk the trails for the entire
route, or a portion of the route, just be sure to return back to
the trailhead by 11am. We will end with a yoga stretch to release
excess tension, relax the mind, and leave you feeling balanced and
energized for the weekend! Don’t forget your water bottle and a
yoga mat or towel for the yoga portion.
Kal-Haven
Trail - 10th Street to Kendall and back - 20 miles round
trip
Bike or
Hike
We will
begin our walk/ ride from the 10th Street Trailhead towards Kendall
which is about a 20 mile round trip. The Kal-Haven Trail,
formally known as the Kal-Haven Trail Sesquicentennial State Park,
is a rail trail that originally ran 33.5 miles between South Haven,
Michigan, to a point just west of the city of Kalamazoo, Michigan,
where there is a trailhead. More than a half-dozen old railroad
towns between Kalamazoo and South Haven offer rest and
replenishment to travelers using the Kal-Haven Trail. The total
34-mile crushed-limestone rail-trail links these towns as it rolls
across the bucolic landscape of southwestern Michigan, from the
outskirts of the bustling city to the resort town of South Haven on
Lake Michigan.
