This three-session Yoga for Scoliosis Basics series with Alison West, international backcare and scoliosis expert, will offer you a methodical approach to working with your spinal asymmetries. You will understand your curves, concavities, the rotation of the spine, and how to work with them. Yoga brings a uniquely integrated approach to addressing the spine, but this course will also make it possible for you to learn how to adjust your practice so that you can do Yoga and participate in the Yoga Union's online Yoga for Scoliosis Basics classes.
Requirement: Please do the Yoga for Scoliosis On Demand program first, so that you can familiarize yourself with the language, benefit from inportant handouts and short bonus sequences that will help you develop fundemental knowledge before taking your first in-person classes. This is the best possible way to prepare for your first class.

Scoliosis is a 3D condition requiring special attention to pose modifications. Once you have mastered this information, you will be able to take it into everything you do.
These series sell out very quickly, as the numbers are kept deliberately small so that you can receive helpful attention and guidance.
Props: a mat, a chair, a yoga belt, two blocks, two yoga blankets.
If you don’t have precisely these things, don’t worry. You’ll have similar items at home, from regular blankets, towels, books (for blocks), a regular belt or bathrobe belt, and so on.
Please register no later than 12pm Friday, July 9 for the series beginning on Monday July 12 at 6pm.
If for any reason you forget to register, just check the event. If it is not sold out, you will still be able to register up to one hour (5pm) before the series.
