This course aims to equip students with the information, experience, and motivation needed to develop a regular meditation practice. You will begin with a daily practice with our first class and emerge with a one month plan when you graduate.
6 Week Highlights (not inclusive)
- Week 1: Purpose of Meditation; Nature of human mind and yogic meditation purpose; meditative poses, spiritual diary and Technique 1.
- Week 2: Dealing with distracting thoughts; Purpose of Japa; Why mindfulness gets us stuck in a groove. Technique 2.
- Week 3: Posture,Pranayama in relation to Meditation. Pranayama practices that prepare themind for the practice; Relationship of mind and breath.Technique 3 & 4.
- Week 4: Developing a Personal Meditation Routine; Helpful guidelines; additional preparations; Where, When, How. Technique 5 & 6.
- Week 5: Overcoming Obstacles in Meditation; importance of support; Longer term goals. Guided Meditation will be provided by your teacher.
- Week 6: Meditation and Daily Life; Importance of ethical foundation; awakening of Kundalini, Locks and Keys, Yogic Nutrition; True Karma Yoga and its purpose. Technique 6.
Misc: Homework practices each week. Creating sanga (support). Opening and Closing ceremony. Optional one month reunion.
