The 7-day cleanse will be led virtually, so you can invite friends and family to do it with you from all over!

No Ayurvedic experience is required.

Ayurveda, the ancient Indian health system and sister science to Yoga, recommends marking the bi-annual seasonal transitions with a cleanse. Several day cleanses or "re-sets" are done in order to restore our bodies to a state of balanced health. As we move from the hot and humid qualities of summer and into the cooler, dryer fall, excess heat carried over in our bodies from summer climate/foods/activities needs to be expelled to avoid burnout and its consequences - exhaustion, problems with digestion, and discomfort. A seasonal cleanse is an intentional pause and recalibration in the daily race of life - it is a chance to slow down, become aware of the shifting season around us and how connected we are to the elements. A cleanse is also a time to de-clutter, release habits and foods not serving us anymore and rejuvenate our natural healthy rhythms.

Vicki will provide a shopping list and Ayurvedic recipes which will include seasonal fruits/vegetables, whole grains, and beans, cooking oils, teas, and spices. After 2 days of "de-cluttering" your diet, we will start the "mono-diet" 3 day cleanse period during which kitchari (a healthy, nourishing, simple-to-digest dish used for cleanses AND everyday life) is the primary food. The last 2 days are a re-integration.

We will use the SLACK app to stay connected. You can communicate with your peers, post questions for Vicki, share photos of your dishes and receive moral support!

How-to Videos: Vicki will post videos (kitchari prep, spice mix, abhyanga)
