Practicing yoga can be a powerful way to help yourself heal
after loss. Whether your loss is the death of a loved one,
the end of a significant relationship, or a surviving a major
health crisis or traumatic event, the recovery process is often
slow and meandering. Yoga can help to comfort you in times of
sadness and grief, to feel connection or closure with who or what’s
lost, and to open your heart and be in the present.
The workshop will be comprised of three sections:
Embracing Grief - A quiet, mat-based, gentle yoga flow
designed to help you observe the ebb and flow of your mourning and
to find balance between holding and releasing loss.
Re-grounding - A slow flow sequence of standing poses for
recognizing resilience and re-grounding in the present
moment.
Remembrance - The final section will be a yin sequence
for rest and release.
Additionally, students will receive a Yoga Self-Care for Loss
sequence card to take home to continue to recognize, reground, and
remember.
