<div><br />Come play with the fire, the pop, the pizzazz of belly dance! The accents, the unexpected twists and syncopations create some of the vitality that attracts us to this beautiful art form. It’s not just the power of the isolations, it’s how we use them, so we’ll play with timing and accenting too. The power of the dance form comes from connecting our inner intention, emotion, and conveying it through our gaze, facial expressions, and body posture. It’s not just the integrity of the technique, but the passion with which it is expressed that creates a captivating, engaging experience for our audience - and ourselves!</div>

<p>In this class, we’ll be exploring emotion, expression, timing, and more… and for dramatic expression, we’ll be using a full skirt to help embody our dance. Not exclusive to belly dance at all, skirt dancing is used throughout many cultures around the world. And, they are fun! The fuller the better! At least a full circle is recommended. We’ll have some for sale at the first class, or email us if you are uncertain exactly what would be appropriate.</p>

<p>Beginner’s Belly Dance: Tapping Into Roots, Flow, & Flair<br />(Three Courses for All Levels)</p>
<p>Dive into the beauty and joy of this ancient art form! Our Beginner’s series is designed for you to intuitively tap into the beautiful inner belly dancer that already exists inside of you, just waiting for expression! Get in touch with yourself from the inside-out, exploring your connection with the earth, rhythm, hips, arms, shoulders, feet, and more. This non-judgemental zone helps you become aware of how the isolations of belly dance relate to YOUR body, in your unique way. We dance mostly away from the mirror so you can feel the quality of your movement and fall in love with your body and yourself!</p>
<p>This three-part series can be joined at any time, taken in no particular order. If you miss a class in the series, you may make it up at another class in the same series taught at a different time. The fundamentals of Roots, Flow, and Flair offer a holistic approach to dance - from head to toe, earth to sky, all elements and all chakras. In every series you’ll work on belly dance moves & isolations from hip lifts to undulations, all within the context of the particular theme. Watch yourself become more proficient and connected to your body as you move through the three courses.</p>
<p>Along with technique and personal expansion, you’ll learn about cultural and historical relevance and roots of the dance. Musicality, rhythms, history… we’ll be sure to put what you’re learning into context so you understand the lineage of what you are studying!</p>
<p>Each instructor teaches in their own intuitive way, you’ll gain something different from every class. Once you finish taking all three, you may find you want to take them again, you’ll find an even deeper understanding of all three topics. Together, all three courses give a solid foundation in the essence of belly dance, and prepare you for continuing your belly dance journey in whatever style you feel works for you!</p>
<p>Highly recommended you have a scarf for your hips (with or without jingles, dancer’s choice); some will be for sale in price ranges for everyone.</p>
