<p class="p1">The title <em>yoga cikitsa</em>, given to the Primary Series, indicates that its main purpose is disease therapy, especially designed to repair, rejuvenate, and strengthen the system for the purpose of achieving higher levels in yoga. The sequence begins with 5 Surya Namaskara A, 5 Surya Namaskara B and the standing postures, it goes in crescendo from paschimattanasana and it reaches its peak with the postures following navasana, after few peak postures it starts its descend with badha konasana and slowly calms us down until we reach our ultimate relaxation posture, savasana.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>
<p class="p1">There are 4 peak postures: bhujapidasana, kurmasana, supta kurmasana and garbha pindasana. They not only require a considerable amount of flexibility and strength, but they are as well the ones requiring energy the most. This week special attention will be given to these postures; we will learn proper alignment, we will practice techniques to open our bodies so we can perform deeper versions, and as well we will learn modifications that can be used if you are not able to perform the full expression of them.</p>
