This course will guide you
through some of the fundamentals of a yoga practice: developing an
awareness of the body and some foundational practices and postures;
an introduction to working with the breath and an exploration of
how mindful awareness forms the basis of all of these
experiences.
We will build our knowledge and
awareness of various yoga postures, including balancing postures,
forward and back bending postures and twists.
Practitioners will be
encouraged to find ways of moving and being in the postures that
work best for their body, rather than trying to fit their body into
fixed shapes. In this way we will build strength, steadiness,
stamina and ease whilst discovering new functional ways of
moving.
We will deepen our awareness of
the breath and how it can support us in our physical practice and
also how it can support us as we move toward
stillness.
All body shapes and sizes are
welcome, no need to be flexible or fit. Come as you are and
experience the benefits that yoga brings!
