<p>This comprehensive certification training is designed for students interested in becoming yoga teachers, ANY current yoga teachers who are seeking to expand and refine their knowledge and teaching, and ANYONE who wishes to gain more understanding of all aspects of the practice and gain valuable tools for personal growth.</p>
<p>During the training students will be introduced to concepts of the yogic path including history, philosophy, different types of yoga, Asanas (poses), Pranayama (breathwork), subtle body, meditation, anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, teaching methodology (class planning, design and sequencing), professional development and practice teaching.</p>
<p>This training is registered and approved by Yoga Alliance, open to ALL levels and does not require any prior teaching experience. Upon completion of this program, you will be equipped with skills to lead safe, empowering, and versatile classes. You will learn how to offer modification, posture options, and how to sequence a complete series of classes with progressive level of difficulty. Be prepared for a deeply enriching and transformative personal experience, and to dive into an opportunity to truly get to know yourself.</p>

<p><u>PHILOSOPHY</u> – key definitions and terms, familiarity with major yogic texts such as Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita</p>

<p><u>ANATOMY</u> – major bones, types of joints, types of tissues, major muscles, and the types of their contraction (skeletal system). </p>
<p><u>PHYSIOLOGY</u> – nervous system, cardiovascular/circulatory, endocrine, digestive systems as they relate to yoga practices. Respiratory system including muscles that affect breathing (involuntary vs voluntary).</p>
<p><u>BIOMECHANICS </u>– types of joint movements and joint stabilization, safe movement for balancing and stretching, contraindications and adaptations for special situations</p>

<p><u>ASANAS </u>– principles of alignment, classifications, targeted areas of the body and benefits, injury considerations, modifications</p>
<p><u>PRANAYAMA </u>– types and benefits, energy anatomy as it relates to subtle body (koshas, kleshas, chakras, nadis, and prana vayus - harmonizing and expansion of Prana/Chi)</p>
<p><u>MEDITATION </u>– key terms and methods, positions, benefits, guiding meditation</p>

<p><u>BEYOND THE MAT</u> – qualities of a yoga teacher, overcoming fears and developing confidence, discovering your teaching style, ethical consideration.</p>
<p><u>ART of FEEDBACK </u>– receiving and giving</p>
<p><u>The BUSINESS OF YOGA</u> – ethics, code of conduct, continuing education, marketing and promotions, liability insurance and waivers.</p>
