<div>Vinyasa is used to describe many different types of Yoga classes. Vinyasa, which means breath-synchronized movement; a vigorous style based on the performance of a series of poses called Sun Salutations, or Surya namaskara in which movement is coordinated with breathing to build heat and fluidity within the muscles and joints of your body.<br /><br />The transition of "take a vinyasa" means moving from your current pose through a caturanga (high plank lowers to the floor like the bottom half of a push up) shifting to upward facing down and arriving at downward facing dog.</div>
<div>This format gives yoga practice an endurance aspect, and allows the body to release tensions held from the previous posture so as to avoid carrying it into the next.</div>
