Yin Yoga is a restorative practice that help relieve anxiety, frayed-thinking, and promote sleep. In this class we also encourage positive body image and core beliefs about self. Blocks, blankets, straps, and bolsters will be used. These props make it possible to completely let go and experience yoga poses without exerting effort. Poses (asanas) are held for 5-7 minutes and can be challenging at first due to applying mild stress on fascia, tendons, and ligaments simply by virtue of holding a passive posture for an extended period of time but are aimed at opening joints and calming the mind. A 5 minute meditation will close each class. Please bring water, a yoga mat, and an openness to ‘be here now’. Aroma therapy with Essential Oils can be shared if the entire class desires.
