My pre school classes are a great way to introduce little ones to the benefits of yoga and are suitable for children 2-5 years. If you want to bring a younger toddler then please get in contact, they’re most welcome but their engagement might be different.
My classes are fun and creative using songs, stories and games to show them the world of asanas, meditation, pranayama, mudras and chakras. They’re short classes at approx. 40 minutes long with a quick relaxation at the end. All the postures are suitable to parents too and I can work with mums who are still finding strength and exhaustion an issue flowing having babies via posture work in the class. It’s a great follow on from mum and baby yoga.
Benefits for the children are increased body awarenes, strength, and flexibility, development of social skills and relationship skills, increased calm and alertness and a lovely fun experience for parents/carers and children to have together. There are no “shoulds” in a little ones yoga class, they may choose to only do a bit of it or they may choose to watch and take it in for a while…it’s a child centred space where everyone can relax and have fun!
