Are you an Intermediate Level Salsa dancer? Have you
been looking for a way to push your dance boundaries by competing
at a Salsa Festival? Then Baza Dance Studios wants YOU!
We are excited to announce we will be preparing
interested students to participate in Heats competition at the
Canada Salsa Congress (Toronto) in October 2024 and the Calgary
Salsa Congress (Calgary) in April 2025.
WHAT IS HEATS COMPETITION?
Heats
competition is solo and partner dancing in an open floor social
style. Depending on the division, solo amateur, solo pro, partner
amateur, partner pro-am (professional and amateur) and partner pro
(both professionals) take to the dance floor all together (in
groups, or heats) to show off their skills to randomly selected
tracks for 30 seconds at a time.
Competitors are then eliminated by the adjudicators via rounds of heats. It's fast, it's challenging, and it's FUN!
DO YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE?
We will be holding an information session on
FRIDAY, MAY 17 at
9:30pm in Studio A for all students interested in
thinking about competing at these two events. Attending the
information session is no-commitment! Just come and see what might
be in store for you to take the plunge into competition -
participating in heats is the easiest and lowest pressure entry
point into the world of festival competition.
For the 2024-2025 season
Baza will be looking to enter students into the Am-Am Partner and
Pro-Am partner Salsa heats.
Register for the information session so we know how many people to
expect!
