Spring Plant Swap / Opt. Macrame Wall Hanging
May 18, 2024 - May 18, 2024

Spring is in the air… Join us for a fun afternoon of plant swapping! Bring any healthy and pest-free plants, cuttings or plant-related items which you want to swap, trade, (or give away for free) Mingle to arrange for trades, exchange information, and meet other plant lovers. We will have a plant expert there to go over some basic plant care tips related to soil, light, and water! We’ll have some snacks, but if you want to bring something, we won’t turn you away!

Since you’ll be going home with some new babies (we imagine many of them will be clippings), we’ve also prepared for you to make them a Macrame Wall Hanging Propagating Station (that’s a mouthful lol)

Event details:

2-3:30pm Mingling & Swap

2:45-3:15 Plant Expert tips/tricks/advice Q&A

3:30-4:14 Macrame making for your plant hanging (additional charge of $25 )

Space is limited, so sign-up soon! A $10 fee will help defray snack costs, and supplies. Once you register, more details will be forthcoming.

Simple Guidelines:

  • Everyone must have at least one plant or cutting. Plants must be pest-free & healthy.
  • All swapped items must be labeled with the type of plant and care instructions.
    • We will provide tags when you arrive if needed

How does a plant swap work?

Each attendee brings plants or plant cuttings to share with others. New to the plant world? Bring something simple like some succulent cuttings or babies. Plant enthusiasts — bring some of your special stuff to share with the rest of the collectors. Remember that everyone is in a different place in their plant journey so be prepared to chat, trade & learn. Learning is half the fun (ok, collecting is half the fun). Please, no plants for sale, just trades.

When you arrive, check-in to receive your name tag and plant id cards. You’ll also receive 'reserve stickers/sticks' so you can walk around the event and not have to worry about carrying your new babies.

All plants and cutting will be setup on various tables around the room so you can mingle, interact and ask questions.

We’ll enjoy one hour of mingling and swapping, our plant expert will do a 30min presentation, and then it’s off to create your new Propagating Wall Hanging Station with our macrame expert Jen Karius. Additional $25

This project will take approximately 45min

Macrame color choices: all natural/cream, blue, lavender and green
