Vinyasa yoga is an active, flowing practice synchronizing breath and movement. The active linking of postures through dynamic movement married with breath is like dancing with the energy of the universe. This style allows for a lot of variety. At times a class may be fast or slow, alignment-oriented or exploratory in nature. Its strength is in its diversity.
The focus of this workshop will be exploring vinyasa flow while threading in instructions from the annamaya kosha, the gross body of muscles and bones, and the pranamaya kosha, the breath body of prana, nadis and chakras. Anatomical instructions serve to deepen our understanding of primary action and alignment. Breath instructions move us beyond the physical world into the energetic experience of spiritual beings living as humans. In addition, focused attention on detailed instruction acts as a concentration tool leading to a meditative state of mind.
Pranayama and meditation are also on the agenda. Open to all levels of practitioner.
This workshop is also part of Serene Yoga Studio's Advanced Teacher Training program, where 200 RYTs can accrue these hours towards the 500-hour certification.
