Was 2025 a hard year for you? Did you feel your peace disturbed, personally, politically, or in some other way? Come and experience the healing power of the peacemaking circle. Traditionally used in indigenous communities for reconciliation and connecting as a community, peacemaking circles have been used in the criminal justice system, in schools and classrooms, by families and communitites, to facilitate healing, create connection, and deal with difficult issues. The unique protocols of the circle quickly create a feeling of trust and safety among participants, which allows them to feel comfortable sharing deep truths in a vulnerable way.
This circle will be focused around the topic of PEACE: How to find it, what makes finding it hard, and, hopefully, having an experience of peace in and through community. It will be led by Lara Simmons, an RYT200 yoga teacher with a Masters in Teaching from Seattle University. She was taught to lead circles by Saroeum Phong, a pioneer in the field of restorative justice utilizing the Peacemaking Circle Process.
