An estimated 20-25% of North Americans and 1.5 billion people worldwide live with chronic pain and a growing number of health professionals are recommending yoga to their patients particularly since we now have research to support yoga is a potentially safe and effective approach for improving function, pain and quality of life for people with chronic pain.
Yoga therapists are well positioned to contribute to a comprehensive pain care plan. However, misunderstandings about pain by the therapist can result in suboptimal outcomes for the person in pain, where the therapist might use language that unintentionally limits the potential for recovery and resilience or might avoid yoga practices that ultimately would improve tissue health, reduce inflammation, support self-efficacy, help restore more ease of movement, and help regain activities that the person enjoys and values in life.
Pelvic Floor Yoga - Creating Connection
In this yoga series, we’ll explore the connection between body,
mind, breath, and the nervous system, and how they collectively
support our pelvic health.
A healthy pelvic floor is one that is fully integrated and
responsive - one that can be strong & engaged when needed, and
also soften & rest when the work is done. This class will focus
on nurturing that awareness.
Through somatic movement, breath awareness, and guided meditation -
we’ll release, relax, build strength & resilience - in support
of our whole being wellness.
You can expect a fun and informative class, with self compassion as
the heart of our practice - inviting us to move gently with deep
care, as we honour wherever we are on the journey
This class offers a steady mid-week anchor to unwind the nervous system, reconnect with yourself, and explore movement that feels both grounding and expansive. Whether you're new or returning to your mat, you’ll be welcomed into a supportive space that values accessibility, genuine connection, and a felt sense of unity with something greater.
RaRa guides you through a breath-led practice with familiar poses, props for support, and soft, soulful music. You’ll build strength and flexibility at a pace that feels nourishing, honouring your body’s natural rhythm and wisdom.
Students should be able to transition comfortably up and down from the floor.
Come soften, expand, and reconnect with your inner landscape as you create more ease and spaciousness within, and a deeper connection to the world around you. I look forward to guiding you in this weekly practice.
