In this workshop, students will learn Thai massage techniques using leverage and gravity to aid the practitioner in stretching. This practice is fully clothed and performed on a mat on the ground. In this workshop you and a partner will learn how to give and take turns receiving the massage techniques. It is highly recommended that you come with a partner or reach out to kira.krick@gmail.com ahead of time to see if anyone else is looking for a partner.
THAI BODYWORK DESCRIPTION:
Thai bodywork encompasses our whole
being by working on our muscles, skeleton, and the internal energy
within our bodies. The session is performed on a cushioned floor
mat, fully clothed, and without oil; instead of on a raised table.
The practitioner uses palm, thumb, elbow and foot pressing;
blending gentle rocking, rhythmic acupressure and yoga- like
stretches to help relax and revitalize the body. Thai bodywork is
remarkable for promoting energy flow, flexibility, and
re-connection that our body, mind, and soul are so often
seeking.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Eleanor Bramwell in 2017 as well as completing her Doctorate in
Naturopathic Medicine in 2019. Kira has also been teaching various
movement forms since 2010. She enjoys the balance of the
therapeutics of Thai massage to her movement arts which allows her
to minimize injuries while doing what she loves.
