Obsession Outlet: A Celebration of Passion and Creativity

Obsession Outlet is a unique and inclusive event designed to provide neurodivergent individuals an opportunity to share their passions in a relaxed and supportive environment. Whether your interest lies in collectibles, educational topics, or games, this event invites you to showcase your enthusiasm, meet like-minded individuals, and enjoy a day filled with creativity and fun. The primary focus is on fostering connections through shared passions and creating a low-pressure environment for interaction during open gym hours. Participants will gain skills in planning, organizating, and executing a project of their interest as an added bonus!

What is Obsession Outlet?

Obsession Outlet is a free-to-participate and free-to-attend event. Scheduled 1 Saturday a month. Registration deadline each month is 14 days prior to the event. Topics and presenter name/age will be announced to the public 2 weeks prior to event.

Ideas for Presentations:

· Showcase Your Collection: Bring your collection and share its story with others. Inform participants about why you started collecting, what your future plans are for the collection, what makes the items special to you, and where you find them.

· Create a Poster Board Presentation: Pick a topic that excites you and design a science fair-style presentation to teach others about it. This is your chance to inspire and educate attendees with your knowledge. Props and examples welcomed.

· Game Play: Bring your favorite board game, card game, or multiplayer game (such as Nintendo Switch) and invite others to join you in gameplay. It’s a fantastic way to bond over shared interests.

General Rules

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all, the following rules apply:

• Participants must be 8 years or older to register.
• An adult must be present for participants under 18.
• Topics will be approved by Bee Me Sensory Gym staff after submission and an approved nofication will be sent.
• No staff is available to stay with presenter. Staff will support setup and cleanup only.
• All registrants must complete a form detailing their planned session.
• Presentations can be done independently or with one invited co-presenter.
• Up to four people can present simultaneously in the party room.
• Please avoid loud sounds, as the gym acoustics amplify noise. Dangerous projects involving fire, chemicals, or similar hazards are not permitted.
• Each registrant is provided with one 6 ft. table and additional floor space as needed.
• An outlet is available for use.

Additional Benefits for Presenters

Presenters will have the opportunity to play in the gym and engage with others for 1 hour after their presentation without admission cost. Alternatively, presenters can also play during their allotted presenting time to maintain focus and encourage a comfortable, regulated experience.

Tweens and Teens with autism, join us for an ice breaker to get to know each other, a fun game of some sort and then break out into socializing, hanging out, and free play in the gym. Invite your friends and/or siblings to join you or come and meet new friends here!

After the first hour, enjoy a light snack in our party room while playing some table games. Come and go as you desire!

Social Group for DSAF members ages 0-5 and school-aged. Register ahead to guarentee a spot, or stop in that day if the numbers are low! 10 families can register on each date!

Play pass for event good for open gym play for 3 hours. Come and go as you please. You may bring your own drinks and light snacks, which can be enjoyed in our gym table area. The party room will not be open for eating.

Flodman Photography & Inspire Pediatric Therapy this event is low pressure to allow families to enjoy each other and their time together rather than stress over the difficulties family pictures can often present. Families will have the opportunity to play, decorate your own cookie for dessert, and have both candid and staged pictures to enjoy for years to come. This event is designed to encourage connection, creativity, and fun in an inclusive environment. Event is exclusively for families with children with disabilities.
