Yoga for Beginners
Mar 16, 2026 - Mar 16, 2026

A solid foundation builds a lifelong practice.

Step onto the mat with confidence in this 6-week journey led by Jen, designed to support you as you begin (or return to) yoga. Together, we’ll create the building blocks of a practice that feels safe, sustainable, and deeply nourishing.

In this series, you will:

  • Learn the fundamentals of yoga asanas (postures) with safe alignment so your body feels strong and supported.

  • Explore the principles of pranayama (breathwork) to steady your mind, balance your emotions, and bring more ease into daily life.

  • Experience simple meditation practices and other aspects of yoga that invite you inward, helping you connect with your true self.

This is more than just learning poses—it’s an introduction to yoga as a way of moving, breathing, and being that can guide you through life’s challenges with steadiness and clarity. By the end of these six weeks, you’ll have a foundation you can return to again and again as your practice continues to grow.

About Jen Young:
With Jen’s classes, your breath will weave together the wisdom of your body, the compassion of your heart and the focus of your mind. This will help you release trapped patterns and come into greater joy through your own creative expression. Jen incorporates kriyas, pranayama, deep core work, holding of poses and meditation into a creative and playful Vinyasa Flow asana practice. Music is an essential part of Jen’s classes, especially inspirational, devotional and healing music.

Under The Cosmic Banyan: Stories and Teachings from the Yoga Tradition
Mai 10, 2026 - Juin 14, 2026

Under the Cosmic Banyan is a six-part storytelling series that explores the beating heart of the yoga tradition through its most enduring stories and teachings. Gathering each week beneath the shade of ancient oral tradition, we journey through tales not as distant texts, but as intimate maps of love, struggle, transcendance, and transformation.

Across six evenings, we’ll enter the cosmic dance of Śiva and Pārvatī, where asceticism meets desire and union and reshapes the universe. The epic arcs of the Rāmāyaṇa and Mahābhārata will unfold as moral laboratories—testing duty, loyalty, grief, and grace amid impossible choices. And through the Bhāgavata Purāṇa, we’ll encounter bhakti as a lived, embodied practice: sung, wept, danced, and remembered. We’ll linger in the playful and radical devotion of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa, where love itself becomes a path to liberation.

This series is for seekers, storytellers, and lovers of wisdom traditions—no prior knowledge required. Come listen, reflect, and reconnect with yoga not just as a discipline of the body or mind, but as a lineage of stories meant to be lived.

This course will be taught by Premananda Vilasa Das, aka Prema, who is a teacher of yoga philosophy, holds a PhD in History, and is a Dharmic Residential Minister at Georgetown University.
