Yoga, as Therapy: A Holistic Approach
“All illness fragments and so whatever integrates also heals. ” -B.K.S. Iyengar
B.K.S. Iyengar’s method of Yoga and its therapeutic application for dis-ease is an acclaimed part of his legacy. Often called “Yoga Therapy,” it seems like a subject separate from practice, yet it is through practice that one acquires knowledge of the holistic, healing power of Yoga.
This method of learning Yoga as therapy is a practical and integrative approach that will transform your practice and, as a result, your teaching by giving you a direct experience of what, how and why Yoga heals.
Using Guruji and Geetaji’s teachings as your guide you will learn how to observe, assess and treat first yourself and then “an other.”
Note: these particular teachings were left to their teachers as both an offering and an obligation (dharma). In combination they lead from the stage of commencement in the treatment of dis-ease with Yoga towards a state of ripeness/fullness.
