Core Align Power House of the Upper Girdle

This two hour intensive workshop is focused on activating the stabilizing and moving muscles of the arms utilizing the Core Align. We’ll focus on your lats, pecs, biceps and triceps muscles primarily. This workshop will explore and promote activation of these muscles to both move the limb while stabilizing the shoulder girdle and torso. Strong pec and lat muscles are important because these muscles work to stabilize the shoulder girdle and keep integrity of movement away from the neck and shoulders. When they're strong, your lower neck and back don't bear the brunt of your motion. The CoreAlign is incredibly effective in increasing strength, power and endurance and it can help highlight instability or mobility issues in the upper girdle. We recommend you bring a pair of clean indoor tennis shoes. You may also want to work barefoot or with socks.

CoreAlign Hips

In this 2 hour Core Align workshop, we will break down the movement patterns of the lower extremities and discuss how these patterns can affect the pelvis, hips, and/or glutes. We will also discuss how core strength plays a critical role in increasing hip mobility and assisting in proper hip mobility. Improving your hip mobility will not only increase athletic performance, but it can also help prevent lower back pain/injury and boost explosive movements, as well as improve lower extremity athletic endurance. You will be moving 75 percent of the time, and we recommend you bring a pair of clean indoor tennis shoes. You may also want to work barefoot or with socks.

Balance and Stability

This three-hour intensive workshop is focused on establishing a stable basis for each movement to progress. This workshop will explore and promote static and dynamic balance. Likewise, we will focus on coordinated movements which require good balance, strength and agility. We will work to increase your strength and flexibility to positively affect balance. We will utilize various props with the traditional Pilates equipment to challenge your stabilization and balance. We will focus on props and exercises that include both circular and linear movements, and range from mild to complex. The movements assist in improving flexibility and balance. You will work hard developing and improving your core strength and exploring your physical and mental strength.

Round Back & Flat Back

Please join us for an intensive and progressive three-hour Pilates Workshop. This workshop will focus on the difference between a flat back and round back and the corresponding exercises that incorporate each. In this workshop, we will explore foundational concepts that differentiate a flat back and round back and the times that each are encouraged and/or required. Flat back and round back postures both recruit tight abdominal muscles, glutes, abductors, adductors and your back muscles. These muscles work in unison to create safe movement. We will address the differences in the axial length of the spine in both postural positions. This workshop will challenge your strength and will help you progress and grow your Pilates practice.
