Join Melissa for this special class series that will work with building deep strength through therapeutic movements, Yoga asanas, free weights, and resistance bands. After age 30, we begin to lose 3-8% of muscle mass each decade. By the time we are between the ages of 50-70 years old we could lose up to 30% of our peak muscle mass. This loss of true strength impacts the health of our bones, joints, overall energy and functional movement. This class will bring together the best of both worlds - Yoga and resistance work to improve lean muscle mass. Sometimes music will be included along with some full body rhythmic movements to support bone and muscle strength.
Each class will begin with a gentle warm up and complete with relaxing stretches.
Please bring 3-5lb dumbbells and a resistance band. Here are a few that will work: Resistance Bands

explore ways to release restrictions in your upper extremities and
torso and enhance your coordination and dexterity. This series will
offer you tools that you can bring into your personal practice to
continue supporting your career, passions, and daily
activities.

tension show up in your low back, the solution may involve more

In this 3-week Hanna Somatics series, you will experience ways to
ease the muscles, fascia, and ligaments that influence low back
comfort. Each week offers a different focus, giving you the
opportunity to discover and begin to release your low back pain and
movement limitations. The movements are simple, accessible, and can
be integrated into your personal practice so you can continue
supporting your low back long after the series ends.
