Silks, also known as aerial fabric, are two long pieces of soft fabric that hang from a single point. Students will learn climbs, positions, inversions, and drops tailored to their individual skill and fitness level. Students will gain strength and confidence as they learn to safely and beautifully manipulate the fabric to move into a variety of poses.
Our youth classes are open to students of all experience levels and movement backgrounds. They are particulary tailored for the learning experience of younger students and are taught by instructors with significant experience working with youth.
For students under age 14, an adult is required to be present in the facility during class.
This one-week camp offers instruction in a wide variety of circus arts to youth students ages 7-14. During the first part of the week, children get to sample various aerial arts, ground acrobatics, and flying trapeze. Kids then get the opportunity to choose a skill to focus on and create acts for a Friday afternoon performance. Lunch and snacks included. Performance on Friday at 4:00pm.
Just like our drop-in classes, our multi-week flying trapeze workshops sessions teach the skills of jumping from the platform, swinging on the flying trapeze bar, and landing in the safety net. Our youth workshops are particulary tailored for the learning experience of younger students and are taught by instructors with significant experience working with youth.
Students move through a curriculum of positions and tricks on the flying trapeze, including opportunities to be caught by a catcher. Beginners are very welcome and will start their session with some instruction on the ground before getting up into the air.
An adult is required to be present in the facility for the entire duration of the class.
