Do you find yourself enamoured of
the “om” at the end of your yoga class? Do you love to lift your
voice with others?
Join Sarah Mansori, LaRita Schoor, and Alexandra DeSiato for an
evening of chanting, song, and joyful expression. In celebration of
the Summer, we'll practice the yoga of devotional singing and
chanting—a timeless, heart-opening practice found in spiritual
traditions around the world. Together, we’ll sing simple mantras,
prayers, and sacred songs to welcome the light and warmth, deepen
our connection to spirit, and anchor ourselves in joy and
renewal.
This practice—similar in form to kirtan—invites healing through
sound, vibration, and community. It’s known to ease anxiety, lift
mood, and support emotional and energetic release. We will chant
and sing in both Sanskrit and English. Printed lyrics will be
provided.
No musical experience needed. You’ll be guided!—just bring your
voice and an open heart.
Space is limited—please preregister. Your $25 registration fee will
be donated to Southern Coalition for Social Justice and their
“Combating Voter Suppression” Initiative.

In this workshop, geared to teachers from any background, you'll learn how to design and lead restorative yoga classes.
This reverse-classroom workshop includes a preassignment and follow-along classes (lucky you!) to complete before we meet, so please budget at least seven hours to prepare your homework in the weeks before the workshop.
Our in-person sessions will:
+ Create a clear definition of what constitutes restorative
yoga—and what differentiates it from gentle yoga and yin yoga
+ Take a bird's-eye view of the nervous system and its experience
in restorative yoga
+ Workshop the student experience in restorative yoga classes, so
we can empathize with and serve our students better
+ Prompt you to design restorative sequences; you'll also get full
class plans to use right away
+ Experiment with perfect prop placement for every body
+ Build your confidence in leading students of every age and level
of ability
+ Give you a warm, supportive environment in which to practice your
newfound restorative yoga teaching skills and prop expertise

Treat yourself to a well-rounded and rejuvenating
yoga experience in this special two-hour workshop led by Amy
Boerner. We’ll start with a dynamic, spicy slow flow—an energizing
hour of intentional movement designed to build strength, awaken the
body, and connect breath with motion. After generating heat and
opening the body, we’ll transition into a calming yin practice,
allowing for long, supported holds that target deep connective
tissues and invite a sense of stillness and release. Whether you're
looking to challenge yourself, unwind, or simply enjoy a thoughtful
blend of movement and rest, this workshop offers a space to reset
and reconnect.

Practicing yoga can be a powerful
way to help yourself heal after loss. Whether your loss is the
death of a loved one, the end of a significant relationship, or
surviving a major health crisis or traumatic event, the grief
process is often slow and meandering. Yoga can help to comfort you
in times of sadness and grief, to feel connection or closure with
who or what is lost, and to open your heart and be in the
present.
This ongoing workshop helps students develop a toolkit for
resilient grieving, including yoga and movement, breathwork,
meditation and reflection, journaling, and the company of others
experiencing loss. Join Joe-Paul and this yoga group of students
addressing grief, adjusting to a new world after loss, and focusing
on renewal and investment in health and relationships.

Prior to COVID, offering hands-on
assists in a yoga class was commonplace. In the post-COVID world of
distance and space, hands-on assists got left out of YTTs and
became less commonplace in classes. But touch can be an important
way to offer support and relaxation, communicate compassion and
acceptance, and help your students find their full potential in a
pose.
In this weekend workshop with Carrboro Yoga's 200-hour lead teacher
trainer Alexandra DeSiato, we will:
+ discuss why assists are offered
+ explore the most common shapes to assist
+ practice the hands-on assists you learn
+ look at the concerns around assists, including consent and
students misunderstanding the purpose of hands-on yoga
You'll leave the weekend ready to offer safe hands-on assists,
confident in the value they add to your yoga teaching, and ready to
level up your classes.
We meet Saturday, 9 a.m.–12 p.m. and 1–4 p.m., and again Sunday, 9
a.m.–12 p.m. (There is no Sunday afternoon session, freeing you to
travel.)
This workshop, which is part of our 300/500-hour advanced studies
yoga teacher training, is also open to teachers from any movement
modality.
