Salsa Level 1 - Series A
Salsa Level 1 consists of two 4-Week Series: A + B (Take in Any Order - must complete both to progress)
Level 1 builds the core foundation needed for social salsa dancing. This level is split into two 4-week series. Both must be completed to advance, but the order doesn’t matter.
In each series, you’ll learn 5–8 essential salsa figures—including turns, cross-body leads, hand positioning, basic variations, and intro salsa shines (footwork). First, each step is learned independently. Then, you’ll learn how to connect them into a flowing sequence, building confidence with transitions and partner connection. These foundational steps prepare you for more complex patterns in Levels 2–4.
You’ll also explore music recognition and timing, learning to identify salsa, bachata, merengue, and cha-cha so you know how to move to the right rhythm on the dance floor.
By the end of Level 1, you’ll
have enough technique, musical awareness, and confidence to start
social dancing and join our weekly practice sessions, making new
friends and becoming part of our vibrant Latin dance
community.
