Songwriting Lab (ages 12-18)

Welcome to
Songwriting Lab!
This lab band meets every Saturday11am-12:15pm unless it is a
popular holiday weekend (see below). Students will not play cover
songs in this ensemble.
Participants will:
- Learn different ways of writing songs
- Craft original melodies
- Write lyrics or choose to collaborate with someone else in the group
- Write harmonies and arrangements (either individuaally or collaboratively)
- Perform on their own original songs and/or potentially on other participant's songs
The instructor(s) will start the class with a group songwriting project. In addition, students will work on crafting their own originals during class and outside of class.

regular Saturday rehearsal time)
Band Showcase
(specific performance date/time to be announced)
Bands will not rehearse on the following Dates:
February 17th: Presiden't Day Weekend
March 30th and April 6th: Spring Break
May 25th: Memorial Day Weekend

The session includes:
- 16 rehearsals with a director and guest teachers
- 2+ performances
- Webpage hosting your sheet music, reference materials, etc.
