Our BASICS Beginner Tap 1 Series is an 8 week introduction into tap technique, learning the base tap steps and articulation of the feet while incorporating steps and rhythm. This develops coordination, rhythm, and timing. After completing the Basics Beginner Tap 1 Series, students should be ready to move onto the 6 week Basics Tap 2 Series before moving onto the Beginner level. Students should wear something that they can move in comfortably. Hair should be fastened back out of the face, and tap shoes should be worn.
This class is for the “Adult total beginner dancer”, or the adult returning to dance after an extended period of time off. This class will slowly go thru the basics and fundamentals of the technique, beginning at the barre, and moving into the center. This 8 week workshop should give you a good base in technique and the confidence to move onto the 8 week, Basics Beginner 2 Series ballet class at completion. Students should wear something that they can move in comfortably, either a leotard & tights, or workout top and leggings. Hair should be fastened back out of the face, and ballet shoes should be worn.
