Blossom Crawford Workshop Weekend
Oct 17, 2026 - Oct 18, 2026
Blossom Crawford Workshop Weekend at Contrology Studio
SATURDAY, OCT 17th :
Workshop (6 CEC's) :
Leveling Up Leveling Down (8:30AM - 3:30PM)
w/ a one hour lunch break from 11:30 am - 12:30pm
Workshop Description : Sometimes labels
can help us understand or categorize information. Sometimes,
however, labels can be limiting. This is certainly true of the
traditional Pilates repertory, in which labeling exercises by level
(beginner, intermediate, or advanced) can help us learn and teach
them... but also sometimes limits how or what we teach our clients.
In this workshop Blossom will share successful strategies for
progressing a client through different levels of difficulty within
the repertoire. Going beyond the idea of beginner,
intermediate or advanced exercises, Blossom will teach you how to
enhance seemingly simple exercises and break down more complex
ones. This workshop will teach you how to take stock of the skills
your clients already have, as well as the skills they need to work
toward their long-term Pilates goals.
SUNDAY, OCT 18th :
Workshops (6 CEC's) :
Eyes and Whys of Teaching Pilates (8:30AM -
11:30am)
w/ a one hour lunch break from 11:30 am - 12:30pm
Workshop Description : Join Blossom for a
new 3-hour workshop where she shares various ideas on how to teach
an effective session to each individual. This workshop will help
you hone your abilities to see, watch, and listen, enabling you to
find your own unique approach to teaching your clients. Blossom
will share overall ideas on how to shape a session for your
clients. These techniques will inspire you to examine why you teach
certain things and how you teach Pilates to your clients. While
exploring the how and why, we will use different Pilates apparatus
and exercises from various Pilates lineages. We will delve into the
movement vocabulary of Pilates and what “working the system” looks
like from Blossom’s perspective. This workshop is about more
than
just adding exercises; it’s about discovering a system that
works for you. Let’s use all your Pilates knowledge and tools to
make teaching both effective and enjoyable.Small Apparatus (12:30pm - 3:30pm)
Workshop Description : We will explore
some lesser used, but potent pieces of Pilates props and apparatus.
The focus will be on the Baby Arm Chair, Ped o Pul, Foot Corrector
and Toe Corrector. We will “review” the basics of the Pilates
repertory on these pieces, while Blossom shares her movement
vocabulary that she's been working on and collecting over her
decades teaching. Blossom will also share some alternative props
that she uses in place of these tools when not available.
Blossom's goal is for you to take the exercises and insights we
have learned from using these props and apparatus and use them to
get a deeper, more comprehensive understanding and variety in your
Pilates sessions.
