Silk Hammock 5 Week Series – Level 1

Not ready for an 8 week commitment? But you’re ready to build more skills than intro or drop-in? Then this series is for you!
In this 5 week series, we’ll focus on deepening your aerial foundation — building strength, fluidity, and confidence in the silk hammock. You’ll learn new mounts, transitions, and poses that expand on skills from Intro to Cirque or drop-in classes. Each week we’ll add to your toolbox of tricks while developing proper technique, muscle engagement, and flow in the air.
Get ready to have fun, LOTS of laughs, physically & mentally strengthen the body in completely new ways, & meet some amazing friends!
A 5 week course is designed for students to uniformly advance together. If any poses don't agree with your body, no sweat! Everything is adaptable :)
– Aerial class packages can not be used towards this series, and missed classes will no longer be credited back to your account (sorry, it's become too hard for fellow students & teachers to continue the flow of the series).
– Students should have taken 3–5 Intro to Cirque or Silk Hammock drop-in classes and feel comfortable climbing and inverting in the air.

Aerial Yoga Beginner, Aerial Yoga All-levels, Aerial Yoga Intermediate, Aerial Yoga Flips & Tricks
To advance to one of our Circus classes, a minimum of 1 aerial yoga class is required, 2-3 are recommended.
Step 2: Silk Hammock – Intro
In this class, you'll be introduced to circus-style hammocks—longer, stretchier silks rigged from a single point. You'll explore foundational movements, aerial terminology, dynamic poses, and transitions, all while improving strength and flexibility in a fun, supportive environment.
Recommended Minimum
Attendance:
Take this series, and/or Silk Hammock Intro/L1, at least 5
times before progressing, or receive instructor approval
to advance.
Prerequisites:
At least 1 Aerial Yoga class is required;
2–3 classes are strongly recommended to build
comfort and body awareness in the air.
To raise funds for and spread awareness about The United Way's Support of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library which brings books to kids through the Capital Region. A Portion of each ticket will be donated to help support the United Way's mission of childhood literacy.
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library mails free, high-quality, age-appropriate books to children from birth until age five, regardless of the family’s income. You can help support their mission while swinging to Dolly's famous tunes Sunday - Nov 9 @ 3pm. Each ticket sale will contribute to our donation to United Way for their active support in connecting families to this program across the Capital District.
