There are over 10 million people in the US with osteoporosis, and studies suggest you can help to counteract the effects of bone loss and osteoporosis through the practice of YOGA.
But how do you know if your yoga practice is safe for your bones?
The Safety Zone is the place where the body’s framework operates as optimally as possible and with much awareness.
Without awareness, strength and balance, this silent disease will cause bones to become more porous and lose structural integrity.
In this workshop, you will learn how bones remodel. You will locate your individual Safety Zone. You will then explore a yoga flow incorporating some well-known yoga postures; and how they relate to creating a safe practice for osteoporosis.
This 2.5 hour workshop is guided by Jennifer Herndon, certifed yoga teacher and physical therapy assistant.
Ecstatic Dance is a free-form, self-expressive, somatic movement that gives you the opportunity to connect more deeply with your body in an intimate, personal way to release trauma, stress, and tension.
The communal space is safe, substance- and judgment-free. There is no choreography or moves, so you don’t have to know how to dance. You just have to be willing to move according to how you feel, following your inner wisdom. There’s no way to do it wrong.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Bring a water bottle, an open heart, and an open mind.

Join Tina and Anessia for a 60-minute Yin practice with optional gentle hands-on assists and massage, followed by a 15-minute traditional English afternoon tea ceremony.

We will practice assists in most of the primary poses found in a traditional vinyasa flow class.
In addition, the workshop will include advanced poses such as handstands, arm balances, and assisted deep stretch poses (using Thai Yoga techniques)
