Guided Nature Therapy Walk
Have you ever wished that you could spend less time “in your head”, and instead enjoy that feeling when one or more of your senses comes alive in a positive, relaxing natural setting? Do you want to be more productive in your daily life? Would you prefer to get better sleep and be less stressed? If your answer is yes to any of those things, or you just enjoy being out in Nature, then a forest therapy walk is exactly what you need!
Forest therapy originated with the Japanese practice of shin rin yoku, which translates as “forest bathing”. Forest therapy is not a hike, nor is it focused on arriving at any particular destination. It is not a contest, so it’s not about how fast you walk or how far you go. Forest therapy involves immersing yourself in Nature through a nice, leisurely walk that offers a very particular guided experience. You will be invited to disconnect from the stress and fast pace of your work and daily life, and instead reconnect with your senses in a way that provides both mental and physical benefits. Through a series of guided invitations, you will be offered the perfect opportunity to slow down and explore the space around you, getting to know the natural beings who are sharing that space with you.
Some of the many known benefits of forest therapy are: decreased stress, decreased anxiety and depression; improved concentration, better sleep, and overall feelings of well-being. Forest therapy has also been proven to improve cardiovascular and metabolic health, lower blood pressure, and boost the immune system. All this from spending a beautiful day out in Nature with your own personal guide!
Our walk will conclude with a special tea ceremony. All supplies will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own drink or snack to enjoy during the tea ceremony as well. * Please let us know about any food allergies you may have.

Come to Heartwood’s gorgeous property to Restore Your Soul with this 3 hour Workshop of deep introspection, Gentle Yoga, nature healing, Breathwork, Meditation, and a Restorative Yoga practice with Essential Oils.
Participants will be encouraged to be silent throughout the entire experience to allow for deeper healing and awareness. The use of silence as a tool for turning inward is an important part of self-awareness and is a way to gain insight into one’s feelings and behavior.
No prior yoga experience needed.
Yoga should be, first and foremost, a personal journey. We are introduced to the practice through yoga classes, and eventually begin craving a chance to go deeper into the teachings to explore the transformational element of yoga as applied to life. Yoga Transformation Training is a special yoga education program to deepen a yogi’s connection to classic teachings and practices and to enhance one’s connection to their own heart, mind and inner voice.
This course includes core philosophical teachings of yoga. Learn the origins of yoga and all the transformational practices that are taught in Heartwood’s YTT courses without the need to practice teaching, study teaching oriented subject matter, or focusing on other non-personal elements that are more about sharing yoga with others than deepening your personal journey.
Exercises, discussion and sharing life experiences in the context of yoga develop deep insight and connections. We explore and learn about Chakras and the energy body, Koshas, Sound healing: Bells bowls and gongs, Mindfulness, Meditation, Pranayama, Mudras, Mantras, basic chanting, and heartfelt yoga activities to awaken our deeper connections to self, nature and the world at large. Workshops in essential oils, mindfulness, tantric art techniques and more make every day feel like a mini retreat. Each session includes a yoga class followed by a lecture and/or activity to learn, grow, and explore yoga. Yoga classes vary to introduce the diversity of yoga, while Meditation and pranayama enhance not only our understanding of yoga’s benefits, but support our personal health and wellbeing.
The course meets one day a week from 9am – 3pm for 10 weeks.
All enrollees are invited to take unlimited yoga classes during the course as well, a remarkable added value inviting you to dive deeply into yoga to feel the benefits and create new pathways for health and wellness in your life.
Join us to learn more about yoga, refine your practice, and deepen your connections.
