Not sure where you are in your belly dancing? Do you know if
you've learned all the basic moves, and if you're executing them
correctly? Are you a beginner and need to hone all the foundational
moves? Or, perhaps you've been dancing a while and know your
technique needs a tweak! This workshop is for you!
In these Workshops, we'll make sure to cover all the
fundamental belly dance isolations and moves, and help you drill
them correctly into your muscle memory.
Then we'll take your technique to the next level, by working
both sides of your brain - learn and drill a combination using
these moves, AND explore how to improvise with these same moves to
express YOUR voice and uniqueness with all the new 'tools' in your
toolbox!
Technique - Choreography - Transitions - Improvisation
Everything you need to become the dancer YOU want to be.
Please note:
- Workshops do not need to be taken in order
- You'll get notes in each workshop with the isolations &
combinations covered
- There are 8 combinations in total, each workshop will cover
2
- All levels welcome, work at your own pace
- Each workshop covers completely different techniques &
unique combinations that do not overlap, so take them all and
you'll have all the Tools you need!
Please wear fitted clothing & a hip scarf so the
instructor can help correct your alignment and technique. We dance
barefoot, or in dance shoes that facilitate articulation of the
arch. No street shoes please on the dance floor.

Fire Dance Play Workshop

Fire Dance Play
The magic of the flame beckons you to dance, the enchanting
sound of the whoosh and the swish, burning away thoughts, worries,
and cares, transporting you to the space where sound and light and
movement are all there is...!
Come... and... Play with Fire!
This workshop will start with some movement fundamentals and
warm up to address alignment and body techniques to start embodying
the elements - earth to ground and connect, air and water to move
with ease and flow, and fire to create a spark in your dance!
Next we'll set up our dancing 'stage', with attention to
details of safety and spacing, fundamentals necessary for SAFE fire
play. Then, we will light UP, and you will receive personal
guidance as you dance from our fire professionals, addressing
technique, alignment, and aesthetics. You can record yourself and
our comments to view and study later. Watching others receive their
guidance is a big part of absorbing teaching principles as well!
Bring your props, or try some of ours, we will provide the fuel and
safety equipment, or bring your own to practice.
New? No worries! Please LET US KNOW WHEN REGISTERING so we
know how many newbies to expect, and we will make sure you get
special guidance in regard to safety and training ESSENTIAL to
moving forward! You'll be able to try our different props before
deciding which ones you'd like to invest in!
These workshops will continue to evolve your dance, but do not
have to be taken in sequence.
All levels welcome!
...have someone who you will use for a fire safety? Bring them
(no additional charge) and they will learn with some hands-on
training!
