Join Kayla and Briar Rose for a very special winter solstice gathering. We invite any and all to join us in sacred community and share in a simple movement ritual designed to help us cultivate intimacy with our local land spirits and receive their messages about truth, trust, faith and love.
Working with spirit to meet the needs of this moment, we will open a ritual container, share a little context, move through a dance practice guided by Kayla to dance with and receive messages from the spirits of the land, do some crafting with what we receive, sharing, and finish with a potluck feast.
No experience necessary, all are welcome to join and please invite your friends and folks. This event is FREE but please do register so we know how many to expect.
Bring clothes you feel comfortable moving in, sacred or natural objects to co-create our altar, any materials you have handy that you love crafting with and a dish, snack or beverage to share.
Couples, friends, strangers - unite!
Please join visiting teacher Balarama Chandra for an Ayurvedic Thai massage immersion. Learn and practice a simple routine for at-home applicable touch therapy in this 4-hour intro immersion into flat-mat body work from an Ayurvedic Therapeutic Perspective.
Often called “yoga stretching”, thai massage, marma, or just full body massage, this workshop will support people of all backgrounds, genders and relationship configurations to access confidence and care while touching another human in a deeply healing way.
What We’ll Explore
-
A beginner-friendly, full-body sequence drawing from Ayurvedic principles, Thai Yoga bodywork, marma therapy, and mindful touch.
-
How to offer and receive grounding, compassionate touch in a way that honors boundaries and consent
-
Breath, body mechanics, and awareness practices that help you connect with yourself and another person safely and sustainably.
-
Understanding the Ayurvedic concepts of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha through the lens of touch and seasonal balance, with a natural emphasis on calming Vata.
Please Note:
This immersion is fully experiential: participants will both give and receive touch within their comfort levels. We will start with touch immediately and run through a one hour full body sequence of giving and receiving.
Folks arriving alone will be paired up with a partner - please reach out to the studio if you have strong needs or preferences as to your pairing.
$120 = 2 seats (no need to register your partner, just bring them!)
$75 option available to purchase a single seat.
For impacted folks who need financial support to attend, please reach out to the studio and we will find a way to accomodate you.
Please come healthy, eat lightly and stay hydrated. Please dress in loose stretchy clothing which covers as much skin as is comfortable - think warm and cozy or just yoga sport.
Please bring a pen, note book, water, comfortable clothes, and any items for you to create a shareable comfortable space for massaging you and your partner. Standard yoga props will be available (mats, blocks, blankets, bolsters). A good measure is asking what you need to keep knee pain away when kneeling or back pain away while lying down. Some people already have a thai massage pad, others use a thin mattress topper, a pillow, a towel, a sheet or others just compose a bed out of yoga mats and a couple blankets. Keep it easy but do think about creating a simple, sacred, clean, comfortable space for yourself.
